Beagle Survives 70' Jump Off Burlington-Bristol Bridge

Posted: Updated:

Brandi the Beagle is doing just fine after jumping 70 feet off the Burlington-Bristol Bridge Friday night.

Alexis Lorenz, Brandi's owner, says she broke free during her evening walk and made it to the bridge.

Surveillance video shows the 7-year-old dog running to avoid traffic and nearly getting hit.

After jumping into the Delaware River, Brandi swam to the shore and then kept running.

Finally, two hours later, Lorenz spotted the dog hiding in the bushes.

The Beagle suffered only a bruised abdomen. She has since been to the vet twice and is now recovering.

Her owners tell Fox 29 they rescued Brandi five years ago from a Beagle rescue group.
