Leading Up To AIDS Walk, AIDS Fund Releases Timeline - Philadelphia News, Weather and Sports from WTXF FOX 29

Every nine-and-a-half minutes, someone in the U.S. becomes infected by HIV.

On Friday, AIDS Fund in Philadelphia released a large text and photographic timeline leading up to the 26th Annual AIDS Walk Philly and AIDS Run Philly event.

Organizers say the goal is to start raising awareness and raising money for the walk and run.

The timeline, "1981-Until It's Over..." represents 30-years of HIV/AIDS history.

The walk and run take place October 21 at the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Organizers expect nearly 15,000 people to take part in the October event.
