Homeless Man Arrested For Bank Robbery & Assault On Police & K-9

Bensalem Police have arrested 22-year old Maurice Ray and charged him with Robbery and Aggravated Assault on Police, including a police K-9.

Ray allegedly robbed a Fulton Bank on the 2100 block of Street Road in Bensalem on Friday, September 21st.  According to police he entered the bank and demanded money via a note.  The teller gave over an undisclosed amount of money and Ray fled on foot.  He ran behind homes and took off several articles of clothing while on the run.

A short time later, a cab arrived at a McDonalds on Street Road.  Police noticed the man that got out of the cab fit the description of the wanted suspect.  Police officers began to detain Ray when he attempted to escape.  He threw a chair towards the officers, but it hit a Bristol Township K-9 dog and his handler.   Ray was tased and taken into custody.

No police officers were injured.  The K-9 was also uninjured.

The suspect did admit to robbing the bank and was sent to Bucks County Prison.
