Summer By The Numbers

Posted: Updated:

This weekend, we said goodbye to summer and the long stretches of 90-degree days and welcomed fall.

The end of the summer season officially ended Saturday.

This summer brought with it plenty of hot days and tied records for the number of 90-degree days in July.

There were 21 90-degree days in July and eight 90-degree days in August. The last 90-degree day occurred on September 1st - just before temperatures in our area started to average out.

Fox 29 Meteorologist Caitlin Roth takes a look at summer by the numbers in the video above.

Thursday weather looks spectacular with mostly sunny skies and low humidity levels. A light jacket may be needed early in the day with lows in the 50s, but under sunny skies temperatures climb into the low 80s.  Along the coast highs top out in the mid 70s.  Winds will be out of the WSW 5-10 mph.  High 83. Low 58.
