Police: Man Walks Out of N.J. Kmart With $27K Worth Of Jewelry

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. -

Police in Gloucester Township are looking for the man who was captured on surveillance cameras taking a jewelry case with thousands of dollars of jewelry inside and walking right out.

According to police, the incident happened Sunday shortly after 11 a.m. at the Kmart store on the 1400 block of Blackwood-Clementon Road in Gloucester Township.

The suspect is seen on surveillance walking in through the front of the store with a shopping cart. The man is then seen in the store's jewelry department, where police say he cuts the cable to a jewelry case, places the case in the cart and leaves the store.

Police say the case was filled with gold earrings worth approximately $27,000.

A witness told police the man drove away in a blue sedan in an unknown direction.

Police describe the suspect as a black man who was seen wearing a Ralph Lauren Polo bucket hat, sunglasses, a dark shirt and jeans.
