Police Investigate Dog Thrown Out Of Car In East Goshen Township

"He's my best friend," said little Quinn, looking at a picture of one of her dogs.

She has no idea that her Lab, Mugsy, which she calls Mugsy McNoodle, is gone and won't be coming back.

"We're searching for the words to let her know he's no longer with us," said Quinn's mother.

Pamela and Dean Ardell say they lost their chocolate Lab at the hands of a cruel person.

Dean took Mugsy with him to a party and somehow the dog got out. That's when they think someone picked him up.

When Dean called police to report Mugsy missing, he got the devastating news.

"They immediately said to me, 'I don't how to tell you this, but right up the street there's a report of a chocolate Lab being thrown out of the car into the passing lane,'" said Dean.

Police got a report from a witness who watched it happen Saturday night in the 1400 block of West Chester Pike.

The family has been empty ever since wondering who would do this and why? It's affecting them and their other dog, Zoe, who now sleeps next to an empty dog bed.

Dean said, "She's completely not herself and she's very quiet."

The Ardells say a piece of their family is missing, and they want whoever did this to be caught.

"We wake up and only see one dog, let one dog out, and fill one dog bowl now. The whole dynamic of our house has changed," said Pamela.

Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police believe the car Mugsy was thrown from is a small red Sedan. If you know anything call them.

The family is also putting up a reward for information leading to an arrest.
