Temple University students received a message from their on-campus police department regarding a recent rash of cell phone thefts.

In particular, thieves are honing in on iPhones.  There have been several thefts near the Main and Health Center campuses.  The majority of thefts have occurred in the area west of Broad Street.

Police have listed the following tips to keep students and their smart phones safe:

In an effort to reduce these thefts and robberies, Temple Police recommend that you do not walk and talk/text while walking on the street.  Students are encouraged to travel in groups and be hyper-vigilant of their surroundings at all times.

If you are a victim of this crime, you are encouraged to contact either campus police of Philadelphia police.
