Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid admitted to reporters Monday that, for a minute, he didn't have a very good feeling about calling the time out seconds before the New York Giants attempt at a game-winning field goal.
Down 19-17, Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes got a second chance at a game-winning 54-yard field goal after Reid called time out from the sideline.
Tynes' second attempt fell short, giving the Eagles the win in front of a sell-out home crowd Sunday night.
"For about one minute there, I wasn't a fan of myself there," Reid said when asked about the call by reporters during his Monday afternoon news conference.
The time out has become known as "icing the kicker" in the NFL and has been used in the past by other teams in similar situations.
In a post-game interview, quarterback Michael Vick admitted his disapproval of the tactic.
"I don't believe in icing the kicker," Vick was heard saying. "You let him kick it and if it's in, it's in. You play games. I don't know where that started. We got to end that tradition."
Reid didn't say much more about the decision, only telling reporters Monday it wasn't a "good feeling" for a period of time.
"Listen, I don't make the rules, but there's a period of time where that wasn't a real good feeling," Reid said as he left the podium.

It was a soupy start today. We can expect many clouds, some sun, lots of humidity, and a chance of pop up showers any time. At least it'll be warmer: High around 80-degrees today.
The weather remains unsettled through most of the work week. Warm temps stick around, too. And we do mean stick...because it'll be humid, too.
By Thursday a cold front moves by bringing more rain. It will also bring drier and cooler weather by Friday as we finally clear out.
