The Philadelphia Water Department says crews have flushed out the rusty water from water mains in the University City area.
The crews worked Monday night to flush the water out.
The water department recommends customers in the affected area flush their cold water taps to make sure that rust has not accumulated in the plumbing.
Customers should continue to flush their taps until the water runs clear in the lowest floor of the home.
On Monday, PWD said the rusty looking water appeared in some homes after maintenance work in the neighborhood's distribution system.
PWD says the water was not a health issue.
