Community Comes Together To Help Boy With Rare Genetic Condition

LIMERICK, Pa. -

A community is coming together to raise money to help the family of a boy whose specialized vest was stolen by thieves.

Five-year-old Wyatt Daring has a rare genetic disorder that makes it impossible for him to regulate his body temperature.

Just to go outside, Wyatt must wear a specialized vest. But as we told you last month, Wyatt's vest was stolen right out of his family's van.

After our story, a company that manufactures the vest agreed to donate a new one.

On Tuesday, members of the community got the chance to help Wyatt and his family at the Waltz Golf Farm in Limerick.

The event ran from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

UPDATE: Fox 29 just received word that this fundraiser raised over $8,000!

Organizers say proceeds from miniature golf will go towards helping the Darings.

If you'd like to help his family, you can also write a check to Wyatt Daring and send it to:
