PHILADELPHIA -
Philadelphia Police say a robbery victim fought back after being forced to withdraw money from an ATM, limiting the gunman's take.
Police say it happened Sunday just after midnight on the 2200 block of South Rosewood Street.
A 21-year-old man was approached by the suspect while he was standing on the corner. Police say the suspect asked if he had a lighter but then pulled out a handgun.
Police say the suspect took the man's cell phone and forced him to take money out of a nearby ATM at Broad and Jackston streets. The man was then forced to go to a nearby 7-Eleven, where he was instructed to take out even more money, police say.
But once inside the 7-Eleven, police say the suspect fought off the alleged robber.
The man pointed a gun at the victim but then took off. Police say he did manage to steal the man's cell phone and $30 cash.
If you have any information, you're asked to call the South Detective Division at 215-686-3013.
