Candidate Bio: Leslie Coolidge - 6th District

Leslie Coolidge is running to represent Illinois' 6th congressional district in U.S. Congress, where the certified public accountant and Harvard grad would contribute her numbers experience to lawmaking.

While the Democrat is a passionate, progressive environmentalist and education advocate, Coolidge says the analytic background she gained while working for KPMG for 28 years would give her unique insight to "job growth, tax policy, the deficit, and reforms of abuses that led to the recession and continued job stagnation."

The Barrington Hills resident is running against Republican incumbent Rep. Peter Roskam.

Illinois' 6th district is spread over Cook, DuPage, Lake, Kane and McHenry Counties, including Algonquin, Barrington, Cary, Downers Grove, Glen Ellyn, Hoffman Estates, Lake in the Hills, Lake Zurich, Palatine, South Elgin, West Chicago, Westmont and Wheaton.
