Deadly Delaware Hit & Run

Delaware State Police are investigating a hit and run crash that killed a man on West Newport Pike late last night.

It happened about 11:40 p.m. as a man identified as John B. Turner 4th-41 of New Castle, DE was struck by an unknown vehicle in the eastbound lanes of West Newport Pike, west of Newport, DE.

The vehicle did not stop and took off in an unknown direction.

Turner was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers continue to collect and analyze evidence at the scene to determine the make and model of the striking vehicle.  It should have damage to the right front passenger side.
