Health officials are warning about two confirmed cases of whooping cough in Lower Merion schools.
One involves a fourth-grade student at Merion School. The other involves an 11th-grader at Lower Merion High School.
A letter was sent home to parents.
Whooping cough, also known as pertussis, is a highly contagious respiratory disease defined by uncontrollable bursts of coughing.
The rest of the holiday weekend continues to look warmer and unsettled. Shower and thunderstorm chances increase late Sunday and Labor Day.
The heat and humidity will continue to expand Sunday into Labor Day. There is a risk of scattered showers and thunderstorms both day. Best chance will be in the afternoon and evening.
