Philly DA Says He's Reviewed Tape Of Officer Hitting Woman

Posted: Updated:

Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams tells Fox 29 he's already reviewed the tape that shows a member of the Philadelphia Police Department hitting a woman.

Williams tells Fox 29's Jeff Cole that he will make the call, along with top city prosecutors, whether Lt. Jonathan Josey will be criminally charged.

Josey was suspended with intent to dismiss last week after he was seen hitting a woman during Puerto Rican Day festivities in Philadelphia.

Charges against the woman, Aida Guzman, have since been withdrawn and the city has publicly apologized for the incident.

Williams says the investigation of the incident, which is being put together by the police Internal Affairs Division, has not yet reached his office.

You can watch Jeff Cole's story in the video above.
