Lincoln High School in Northeast Philadelphia is considered a persistently dangerous school by the district. There is already a heavy police presence there, but that did not stop a massive brawl from breaking out Tuesday afternoon.

One fight turned into three fights in the hallways of Lincoln High.  Several witnesses told Fox 29 it began when a boy warned another student to leave his sister alone.

Damaso Delorde, a Lincoln senior,  told Fox 29's Claudia Gomez that the boy was trying to defend his sister, not start a huge brawl.

Kids came pouring out of the classrooms and it got very hectic.  School officials implemented the lock down at 1:15om.

For 45 minutes, students were not allowed to leave their classrooms, as police gained control of the situation. They arrested seven students.  Fortunately, no one was injured but the effects are lingering.

A student told Claudia that she was scared to go back to school tomorrow.  Some neighbors are concerned as well.  Across the street is a day care where staffers are worried the fighting could affect the young children in their care.

Students tell Fox 29 that the boy who came to his sister's defense was one of the seven arrested.   they also say that despite today's fight, it has actually been less trouble this school year that last.
