Dozens Of Students Injured In Bus Crash In Atlantic City

Posted: Updated:

More than two dozen students injured after buses slammed together in Atlantic City.

It happened at Arctic and Morris avenues shortly after dismissal.

The ride home from school was anything but normal for two buses full of Atlantic City high school students caught in a chain reaction collision Tuesday afternoon.

Atlantic City fire officials say one bus hit the tail end of a van when it stopped suddenly.

A second bus then hit the first one. The impact banged up the front and back ends of the vehicles. 25 students suffered minor injuries.

Giselle Mescia-Lopez saw the crash on her way home from school. She says she saw several people taken off the buses and put into ems trucks.

Fire Chief Dennis Brooks says the crash happened in front of another school as classes were letting out there adding to the chaos.
