HARRISBURG, Pa. -

Pennsylvania is reporting its first case of fungal meningitis linked to the national outbreak from contaminated medication produced by the New England Compounding Center in Massachusetts.

The state's Department of Health says the patient received an epidural steroid injection and was identified as part of ongoing record review and patient follow-up performed by the department at Allegheny Pain Management in Altoona.

That facility was one of two locations in Pennsylvania that received shipments of the specific lots of steroid medication linked to the national outbreak.

The health department says no illnesses have been found to date at the South Hills Pain Clinic in Allegheny County, the second location that received a shipment of the steroid medication.

The patient is currently hospitalized and receiving the care and medications recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to treat the specific fungal infections linked to this outbreak, according to a health department news release.

It was a gloomy Sunday as the whole area remain socked in with low clouds & fog, drizzle and scattered showers.

The weather remains unsettled through most of the work week. The difference is that it will really warm up -- temperatures soar into the 80s by Tuesday.  That mild and humid air mass will fuel afternoon thunderstorms.

By Thursday a cold front moves by bringing more rain.  It will also bring drier and cooler weather by Friday as we finally clear out.
