No Smoke Alarms Present In Deadly House Fire In Philly

A fire inside a home on the 300 block of Buxmont Street claimed the life of an elderly man Monday morning. A fire inside a home on the 300 block of Buxmont Street claimed the life of an elderly man Monday morning.
PHILADELPHIA -

The Philadelphia Fire Department says there were no smoke alarms present inside of the home where a fire killed an elderly man Monday morning.

Investigators are now looking into the cause of the fire that sparked around 8 a.m. in the basement of a two-story home on the 300 block of Buxmont Street.

The fire was placed under control by 8:27 a.m.

The cause of the fire is now under investigation by the Fire Marshal's Office.
