TRENTON, N.J. -

Trenton Mayor Tony Mack made his first public appearance since federal authorities charged him with corruption.

Mack appeared at a groundbreaking ceremony for upgrades to North Warren Street in Trenton.

Mack was arrested last month by the FBI.

Investigators accuse him of trying to extort up to a $100,000 in bribes from FBI informants.

While Mack deflected questions about the charges during the news conference he did maintain his innocence.

Mack also said he plans to go before the Trenton City Council Tuesday night to introduce a temporary budget and answer their questions.
