WIXOM, Mich. -- There were two drive-by shooting incidents Tuesday night in Wixom. Police believe the shooter is choosing targets at random, which makes him that much more dangerous.
"We have every resource that we have poured into working on this right now," said Wixom Police Chief Clarence Goodlein.
One of the shootings happened Loon Lake Road. Wixom Police received the first 911 call a little after 7:15 p.m. Tuesday. A man inside a quiet subdivision was taking out the trash when he heard gunshots.
"He said that he thought that or had the sensation that bullets flew past the top of his head," Goodlein explained. "He was frightened and he ran into the house and he couldn't believe that... had happened."
Just minutes later another call came into 911.
"One of our neighbors had sent us a text message that her car had been shot at and that her hubcap was struck," one individual told us.
"The bullet had actually entered the tire and gone through and caused a hole in the rim," Goodlein said.
That shooting happened on Wixom Road just south of Charms about a half mile from the first incident.
Police have learned a vehicle matching the same description may have been involved in a drive-by shooting in Commerce Township 15 minutes before the first Wixom shooting.
Detectives are working with the Oakland County Sheriff's Department and police are heavily patrolling the area. Meanwhile, the chief had this message for the person behind these random drive-by shootings.
"We're going to find out who you are. We're going to make you responsible for what you did. We're not going to tolerate it in this community."
The vehicle is described as a dark colored sports car with aftermarket blue tinted headlamp covers. One witness described it as a Ford Mustang.
If you have any information, you are asked to call Wixom Police.
