Robbers Hit South Philly Convent Twice In 2 Nights

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Police say a convent in South Philadelphia has been hit by robbers on back-to-back nights.

The first robbery was reported Tuesday night into Wednesday at the convent for St. Gabriel's Church on the 2900 block of Dickinson Street. About $150 was taken, but no one was hurt. The robbers apparently broke in through a window.

Then, on Thursday morning, the Philadelphia Police Department's South Detectives confirmed that the convent had been hit by a robber a second time overnight.

There was no immediate word on what was taken the second time. Police are continuing to investigate.
