PA Turnpike Eastbound Lanes Near Valley Forge Reopened After Accident

Posted: Updated:

The eastbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike have reopened between Valley Forge and Norristown after a deadly crash forced crews to close the road during morning rush hour Monday.

Traffic was brought to a standstill along the seven-mile stretch following a multi-vehicle accident near milepost 331 that resulted in the death of a Turnpike Authority employee.

The employee was later identified as 66-year-old Michael San Felice.

Emergency responders say a box truck hit the truck occupied by Felice.

Felice was a Vietnam veteran. He is survived by his wife of 43-years, two daughters and three grandchildren.
