Montgomery County officials are investigating a fire that claimed the life of an elderly woman and sent her husband to the hospital.
The fire happened just after 3:30p.m. on the 300 block of Roberts Avenue in the Conshhocken section of Whitemarsh Township. Upon arriving, police and firefighters found 70 year old James Conicello in the back of the house with burn injuries while the home was ablaze.
Fire crews later located Conicello's wife, Barbara, in the ground floor bedroom deceased. James was transported to Bryn Mawr Emergency for his injuries. His condition has not been released.
Whitemarsh Township Fire Marshal's Office and Police Department are investigating the incident along with the Montgomery County Detective Bureau, Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal, and the Montgomery County Coroners Office.
