SEPTA To Resume Services, But No Regional Rail

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

SEPTA officials say most lines and buses will get rolling again today, but trains won't start running on the Regional Rail lines until at least Wednesday.

"We're here to announce that effective at noon today that transit service within the Southeastern Pennsylvania area will resume," General Manager Joe Casey told assembled media.

The Broad Street Line, the Market-Frankford Line and all of the trolley lines get back up and running at noon. Also, 80 percent of city transit bus service will resume, along with 60 percent of bus routes in the suburbs.

In the suburbs, the Route 100 Norristown High-Speed Line and the Route 102 Media-Sharon Hill Line will also get going again.

The Media 101 Line will have service to Woodlyn Avenue.

But Casey added, "There will be no Regional Rail service today. Contrary to some reports, we did not go unscathed on Regional Rail. Regional Rail, on virtually every line, sustained significant damage, and crews are currently out there clearing trees. Tomorrow morning, there will be some service out there. At this point we are unable to announce what services will be resumed."
