It's not just a battle against storm damage in Atlantic City, as fighting words swirled between the city's mayor and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
It started Monday night, when the governor criticized Mayor Lorenzo Langford over evacuation issues.
Christie said the mayor encouraged residents to stay behind.
On Tuesday, Mayor Langford fired back, saying he never encouraged people to stay in Atlantic City, but presented the shelters as another option in addition to evacuating.
Sandy caused significant damage to the area by flooding streets and damaging a portion of the Atlantic City Boardwalk.
The westbound lanes of the Atlantic City Expressway were closed for several hours on Sunday after a single vehicle accident sent several people to the hospital.
