TRENTON, N.J. -

A new website launched Sunday in New Jersey aims to raise funds for families impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

Gov. Chris Christie and First Lady Mary Pat Christie unveiled the website, "Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund," Saturday.

"As recovery efforts continue, we know that even greater needs will become apparent for our families who have been impacted so deeply and extensively by this disaster," Gov. Christie said in a statement.

The New Jersey governor says the website will provide a "critical mechanism" to collect donations and provide assistance to families.

"The images and stories of the damage are heartbreaking," the first lady said in a statement.

"In the aftermath, we must support and help our friends, neighbors and so many others impacted by the storm. The Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund is an important way to help our citizens rebuild their lives."

You can find the website at: www.SandyNJReliefFund.org.

Fund organizers say donations can also be sent in through the mail:
