This 15-foot effigy of cyclist Lance Armstrong was symbolically burned Saturday in the southern England town of Edenbridge.

A 15-foot effigy of cyclist Lance Armstrong was symbolically burned at a bonfire celebration in the southern England town of Edenbridge Saturday.
The figure was stuffed with oil-soaked newspapers and packed with fireworks as it was torched in front of thousands of people.
According to organizers, the event is held annually to mark the anniversary of Guy Fawkes' attempt to blow up the houses of parliament in the gunpowder plot of 400-years ago.
The Edenbridge Bonefire Society says it selects a figure in the news as the model for their "Guy" to be burned.
