Police: Gun Discharges, Hits 10-Year-Old On Playground

Police say a 10-year-old was shot in the hand after a gun discharged in a playground Sunday.
PHILADELPHIA -
A 10-year-old was rushed to the hospital Sunday afternoon after police say a gun discharged and struck him on the hand while on a playground in the area of 56th and Christian in Philadelphia.
Police say the incident happened around 3 p.m.
According to investigators, the 10-year-old was playing with the gun when it discharged.
Police say the child was taken to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia but was later released Sunday evening.

Not the prettiest Friday, but we're ready for a great weekend. Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. After an early high in the upper sixties, temperatures fall & winds pick up out of the chillier northwest. Right now the Memorial Day Weekend looks sunny and cool with highs in the low to mid 60s on Saturday, in the 70s Sunday & Monday. Cooler temps at the shore.
