MARGATE, N.J. -
A week after Sandy tore through the Jersey Coast causing millions in damages, New Jersey residents put aside the storm's aftermath to focus their attention on voting Tuesday.
FOX 29's Stephanie Salvatore reports there was a steady stream of voters at a polling location in Margate.
Although there are constant reminders of the storm, many voters say nothing changes the fact that its Election day.
Gary Cocking says as he was casting his vote, he was able to take advantage of an unexpected perk - help from FEMA.
Cocking says he's already received help from FEMA but he was able to get answers to some more questions while at the polls.
Cocking says his car was damaged by Sandy and the entire downstairs area of his home now must be redone.
Other storm victims felt the same way, and as they were able to cast their vote, they were also able to get some questions answered by FEMA representatives.
FEMA says representatives were placed at many polling places along the coast and were expected to remain there until 6 p.m., or in some locations until the polls close.
Some voters tell FOX 29 just getting to take part in the Election gave them a sense of normalcy they can embrace, even if just for a few minutes.

It feels like summer out there. We're expecting milder temperatures than yesterday: highs in the mid 80s. Just like summer, it'll be humid, with a chance of a few spotty showers during the day.
This pattern stays in place until Thursday, when strong thunderstorms usher in cooler air for the holiday weekend.
