ATLANTIC COUNTY, N.J. -

She may only be 16-years-old, but Sydnie Pennington came up with an idea that some might say was wise beyond her years.

The Atlantic County teenager says she got an idea to launch a fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project after meeting a veteran who is a double amputee.

She is now raising thousands of dollars for veterans returning home from the battlefield.

Her efforts have touched the lives of many local veterans.

Pennington says she has a goal of $10,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project. She says she has already raised more than $7,000.

You can watch her story from FOX 29's Dave Kinchen in the video above.

An armed deli robbery is caught on camera. Two brazen gunmen held up the store owner with the man's kids right nearby. It's scary enough having armed gunmen storm your business.
