A mom has been arrested after her 6-year-old girl was found abandoned at McDonalds. The little girl went to get food and came out to find her mom had left her there on purpose.
And she had just gotten out of jail that same day.
Less than 24-hours after being released from jail, Lucy Parra was arrested again. She spent a week in Tent City for driving on a suspended license. Investigators say as soon as she got out, she broke the law again by getting behind the wheel, picking up her 6-year-old daughter from school, and taking her to McDonalds then leaving her there.
When the 6-year-old girl couldn't find her mom, McDonalds' workers helped search. They realized the 6-year-old had been left behind so they called police.
Police caught up with Parra 15 minutes later when she came back to the McDonalds at 23rd Avenue and Bethany Home.
The 23-year-old mom was not even supposed to have one-on-one contact with her 6-year-old. CPS had taken away her custody.
According to court paperwork, Parra has a drug problem. She was booked into jail for child abuse.
According to court documents, Parra has done this before -- left her kids with family members without telling them to watch them. The problem there is that no one knew they were supposed to baby sit them, making the abandonment issue that much more glaring.
She's been released from jail on house arrest and has been ordered not to have any contact with her children.
The kids are in the care of CPS.
