Pedestrian hit and killed by driver in Phoenix - Philadelphia News, Weather and Sports from WTXF FOX 29

A pedestrian in his 50s was killed Thursday night when he was hit by a car.

It happened about 7:30 p.m. in the area of 19th Ave and Mountain View.

Police say the man was not in a crosswalk and was wearing dark clothes when he was struck by a Camaro, driven by a woman in her 30s.

The driver stopped at the scene. Speed and impairment are not suspected to be factors, according to Phoenix Police Sgt. Steve Martos.

The victim was transported to the hospital but died on the way. His name has not yet been released.
