TEMPE, Ariz. -
Firefighters were called out to the Arizona State University campus on Tuesday night to battle a fire inside a high-rise dorm.
A burned meal sparked off the flames inside a dorm room at 900 South Terrace.
The damage was contained to the dorm room, but the hallways did fill with heavy smoke.
The entire building had to be evacuated. Students were later allowed back in the building after crews put out the fire and did some clean-up.
Tempe, Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Mesa Fire Departments responded. ASU Police assisted with the evacuation.
What exactly happened to the food to cause the fire is unknown.
