PHOENIX -

A South Phoenix McDonald's gave away Thanksgiving breakfast to thousands of people on Thursday.

The McDonald's on Central and Southern Avenues hosted their 19th Annual South Phoenix McDonald's Thanksgiving Celebration.

An estimated 8,000 people lined the street between 8:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to receive free pancakes, juice, and coffee. In addition to the food, there was live music, turkey giveaways and an appearance by Ronald McDonald.

Over 400 turkeys were given away, thanks to donations from local corporate partners.

Courtesy of owner and operator Julian Nabozny, the event fed thousands of Phoenix families in need. He does this every year as a way to give back to the community.

Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton showed up to support Nabozny.

"We started in 1993 with about 20 families. It's grown to about 7,000 or 8,000 who are going to be here today. It's a tradition in south Phoenix. People expect it and I just love to bring people together and give back to my community," Nabozny said.
