Dog Who Saved Owner From Burning Home Now Missing

Posted: Updated:
SHAMONG TOWNSHIP, N.J. -

A dog that saved his owner's life from a burning home is now missing.

Jeff Rossi tells FOX 29's Lauren Cohn that his dog "Harley" woke him up when his parent's Shamong Township home went up in flames Sunday.

Rossi says he awoke to loud barking.

When he ran out of the home, Harley followed but kept running.

The fire sparked Sunday morning and Rossi says no one has seen Harley since.

Harley was last seen running down the street in the direction of Medford Lakes.

Rossi says he's been searching everywhere and has even posted signs.

Harley is a five-year-old black lab with a "Harley Davidson" collar. Rossi says the dog wasn't wearing any tags.

Rossi slept in his car parked in the driveway Sunday night, hoping Harley would find his way home.

Two other dogs were inside of his parent's home at the time of the fire but made it out safely and were found nearby.
