MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. -
Police have arrested a fifth suspect and are seeking a sixth in connection with the alleged abuse of a Mount Holly woman by mostly family members.
The woman was still hospitalized Wednesday, but she is recovering after police say she was beaten and tortured by at least five cousins over a span of three to six months.
Wesley Gauntt, 43, of the 200 block of Washington Street, was arrested Wednesday. Police said he lived at the same house as the alleged victim and is charged with assault for repeatedly punching her.
Charged and still being sought is 20-year-old William New, who also goes by the name "William Jester." He's accused of punching his cousin.
The 36-year-old victim came to the Washington Street home to care for a relative who had a stroke. But investigators say she was repeatedly shocked with a stun gun, beaten with a pipe, tattooed and forced to sleep on a chair.
Two other suspects, Georgianna Jester and Ellen Hairston, have now been released on bail, FOX 29's Dave Scratwieser reported.
No one answered the door at the family's home for comment Tuesday.
