SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -- Doctors have found a bone marrow match for Bradley Allen Moore, Junior, a metro Detroit baby fighting a rare form of leukemia.
His family says they got the good news during a visit for tests and check-ups.
Doctors have found a perfect match for Bradley, who is now scheduled to undergo a bone marrow transplant later this month.
"In that moment that we find a match... you just smile and say yes, we can go forward. It is one of the most gratifying things," says Dr. Gregory Yanik from University of Michigan Mott Children's Hospital.
There are still thousands of children and adults who need a bone marrow donation to save their lives, many in metro Detroit. You can give that gift by joining the National Bone Marrow Registry. Learn how at www.bethematch.org.
A bone marrow drive is also being held on Friday, December 28 at the Art Van Furniture at 6500 East 14 Mile Road in Warren from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Click here for more information.
