A rat was spotted roaming the bread basket of gourmet shop E.A.T. on Manhattan's Upper East Side.

Video by the NY Post shows a large rodent scampering around the display in the front window while the store appeared to be closed.

The rat was reportedly making itself comfortable amid boxes of Crisp crackers in the shop at Madison Ave. and E. 81st St. early Sunday morning.

Managers told the Post they were taking care of the problem but Monday evening, the city's health department had ordered the shop closed.

Visitors were greeted with a yellow closure sign on the door as workers bagged up all of the product inside the store.

In September, a mouse was caught on video hanging out in a bin full of stuffed olives at Fairway supermarket in Manhattan.
