Residents Voice Concern Over Proposed South Philly Pawn Shop

Residents spoke against plans for a proposed pawn shop in South Philadelphia during a meeting Tuesday night at the "GAMP" School.

The plans call for a new pawn shop to open on the 2200 block of West Passyunk, but residents say they don't want the business in their neighborhood.

The city rejected the first zoning ordnance, saying it was too close to a school.

The applicant has since filed a zoning variance.
