Baseball's winter meetings wrap up Thursday in Nashville. The Phillies still have not made any major moves this offseason.
But according to several reports the team could be close to acquiring a new third baseman.
The Dallas Morning News was among the first to report that the Phillies are talking to the Texas Rangers about a deal that would send Michael Young to the Phillies.
Young, 36, hit .277 with 8 homeruns and 67 RBIs last year but would have to waive a no-trade clause to come to Philadelphia.

Thursday weather looks damp and stormy. It will be mild and muggy to start with spotty showers early followed by afternoon and evening storms. Highs in the upper 70s with winds out of the SW 5-10 mph. Some of the storms will produce locally heavy rain and gusty winds.
This system is from the same cold front that caused the midwest tornadoes. It will also usher in cooler air for the holiday weekend.
