Police in New Jersey say they arrested the driver who struck and killed a 31-year-old man crossing a road before leaving the scene of the accident early Saturday morning.

Authorities say Joshua Cisson was crossing Route 1&9 when he was struck by the vehicle driven by 25-year-old Ulises Medina of Elizabeth that was heading southbound.

Cisson later died from his injuries.

Medina's vehicle fled the scene and he led police on a car chase before he finally pulled over a short time later

Medina is being held on criminal charges that include leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle accident and eluding police.

He is being held by Elizabeth on $150,000 bail.
