GRAND CANYON, Ariz. -
Rangers at Grand Canyon National Park say they have recovered a body from below the South Rim.
The body was first spotted by the park's helicopter pilot while flying a routine mission.
Two park rangers were flown in to the area below the Abyss Overlook on Saturday to conduct an initial investigation and prepare the body for transport.
Park officials say the man's identity is not currently known. His age is undetermined.
The National Park Service is continuing to investigate along with the Coconino County Medical Examiner.
