NEW YORK -

The new steel spire to be placed atop "One World Trade Center" arrived in New York City Tuesday.

A barge carried nine pieces of the 19 total pieces, which are the largest sections to be delivered.

The director of the World Trade Center construction says the remaining pieces will be delivered by truck.

The pieces range from 30-tons to close to 70-tons.

The spire is scheduled to be placed at the top of the tower by the spring.
