SugarHouse Fined $15K For Letting Banned Patrons Gamble

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board says SugarHouse Casino has been fined $15,000 for letting three banned patrons gamble on the premises.
HSP Gaming LP, the operator of SugarHouse, agreed to the fine, the board says.
According to the gaming control board, all three casino patrons had been banned from entering and gambling in the state's casinos.
Two were on the "Self-Excluded Program," which permits problem gamblers to ban themselves from playing at Pennsylvania casinos. While they're on the list, gaming facilities must refuse wagers from and deny any gaming privileges to them.
Both patrons, who gambled at SugarHouse this summer, were charged by state police with defiant trespass and had their winnings confiscated. One of the two had spent four days gambling at SugarHouse and had once previously violated the program.
A third incident in May 2012 involved Arthur K. Garner, who was on the gaming board's exclusion list, which the state says consists of career or professional offenders, cheats and others who are supposed to be excluded or ejected from licensed facilities.
Garner made the list in 2011 for his alleged involvement in the robbery of gaming chips from another Pennsylvania casino. State police charged him with defiant trespass for going to SugarHouse.
