A Chester County couple faces accusations of running a dog fighting operation in Chester County out of the home they shared with their five children.
Local police officers and investigators with the SPCA say Shane Santiago and Laura Acampora now face several charges, including child endangerment and animal cruelty charges.
Investigators say they were notified by neighbors of possible dog fighting on the property, but the defendants were not caught until after Santiago was arrested on drug charges.
Police say after the arrest they were given permission to enter the home by its owner.
When they entered the home, officers say they found a bloody dog fighting operation.
Neighbors tell FOX 29 they heard what they describe as horrifying sounds of dogs barking and scuffling.
