PHILADELPHIA -

A 50-year-old man died after he was shot in South Philadelphia Wednesday afternoon in what law enforcement sources call a mob related shooting.

The shooting happened just before 3 p.m. Wednesday on the 2800 block of Iseminger Street.

Police at the scene tell FOX 29 the 50-year-old man was rushed to Hahnamann University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Reporting from the scene of the shooting, FOX 29's Omari Fleming reports the victim was found slumped over in a truck parked on the side of the street.

Neighbors in the area report hearing five shots were fired.

A person of interest is now in police custody who allegedly has connections to the mob. FOX 29's Dave Schratwieser reports Anthony J. Nicodemo, a known mob soldier, is being questioned by police in connection to the shooting.

Nicodemo was indicted in April, 2008 on racketeering, conspiracy, money laundering and promotion of gambling charges, according to the NJ Division of Gaming Enforcement.
