The Arizona Cardinals have taken a beating lately like never before, but for the downhearted Big Red fan, there is hope.
Just ask a Glendale pastor who posted something outside his church that's getting a lot of attention.
Cardinals fans have done their part -- packing the stadium in Glendale, believing in their team, but tough times are upon us in the desert.
The latest devastating blow handed down by the Seattle Seahawks was too much. The Red Sea seems to be parting, or just falling apart.
"Everybody's given up..there's hope, c'mon man, there's hope. They could always win a game," said Pastor John Correia of West Greenway Bible Church.
Correia is determined in this season of hope to give the Cards fans just that -- Luke 18:27 apparently says it all. The Redbirds should keep the faith.
"It's a bit of a stretch to get to the application..helping the Cardinals. It's just to make people laugh a little bit..there's a lot of angst about it," said Correia.
Pastor John didn't exactly plan for this kind of response and he doesn't think God cares too much about football, but he has a Christmastime message for those down-and-out fans and for the team itself.
"Nothing's worse than fairweather fans, nothing's worse than people that give up when times are tough..go and watch the game, enjoy it, root for them, encourage them to do well."
