DELAWARE COUNTY, Pa. -

A Delaware County father is accused of shooting a man and then taking police on a short high speed chase all while his two and three-year-old kids were riding in the car.

Only FOX 29 cameras were there when Eric Afandodor was taken into custody after the shooting and police chase.

In the video, you can see the man's two-year-old son looking on as his dad is put in handcuffs.

"He put a whole community in danger, Upper Darby Police Department Superintendent Michael Chitwood told FOX 29's Chris O'Conell.

When the suspect crashed his silver Chevy into the corner of a Lansdowne karate studio, witnesses say the man then took off running, leaving his kids strapped in their car seats.

"He takes his children to a shooting. He takes them on a high speed chase and crashes into a wall. Thank God they were in their car seats," Chitwood said.

The children, uninjured and seemingly unaware of what was going on, were taken by officers as their father was arrested on charges of attempted murder and reckless endangerment of a child.

"It's kind of disturbing that he first of all had his children with him and left them in the vehicle to run away," witness Larry Joines said.

FOX 29 has learned the shooting victim was treated and released from the hospital.

Police say the entire incident happened while the mother of the two children was at work.

The kids are now the custody of their grandmother.

It was a gloomy Sunday as the whole area remain socked in with low clouds & fog, drizzle and scattered showers.

The weather remains unsettled through most of the work week. The difference is that it will really warm up -- temperatures soar into the 80s by Tuesday.  That mild and humid air mass will fuel afternoon thunderstorms.

By Thursday a cold front moves by bringing more rain.  It will also bring drier and cooler weather by Friday as we finally clear out.
