The accident happened Thursday night, just after 6 p.m. along Stenton Avenue in Cedarbrook.

FOX 29's Claudia Gomez reports the victim, Annie McManus, was about to celebrate her 85th birthday.

Friends say she was always busy pushing her shopping cart wherever she went.

"Miss Annie," as her friends called her was trying to cross a busy Stenton Avenue when she was struck.

Eric Johnson, a friend, tells FOX 29 he tried to comfort her afte she was hit and held her hands as paramedics arrived.

"I rubbed her legs and let her know it would be alright because she was pretty much in shock, very much traumatized," Johnson said.

Investigators say they were originally looking for a Jeep Cherokee and they even had a license plate.

But now, investigators examined a car Friday afternoon and learned the Jeep wasn't involved afterall.

Police now need your help more than ever to find the driver.
